Thank you for making last night's band banquet such a special event! It was a wonderful way to end our season and bring everyone together again one last time. A special thank you goes out to Laurel Latimer, Kathy Bauer, Molly Cinnamon, Elizabeth O'Connor, and Anne Viner for their planning and execution of such a terrific evening. Thank you to Mary Bauer for her hours of work putting together our season highlights and music videos - great job Mary!
I would like to acknowledge our senior band members one final time - thank you for sharing your talents with our band and for being such great leaders this year!
We hope everyone had a great fall filled with memories and accomplishments. We are looking forward to planning another great season for the fall of 2015! Stay tuned for more details coming in early spring! Let's do some great recruiting as a band between now and then - 100 band members, here we come!

Congratulations to our students for making this fundraiser a huge success! Our band sold $9,000 worth of chocolate and our Fine Arts Department as a whole sold over $20,000. As a department we put over $10,000 into individual students’ accounts! As a reminder, fundraised money in your student’s individual Band account can be used to offset fees for Band Trips, Marching Band expenses, and Jazz Band/Combo expenses!
Our next fundraising opportunity for students will coincide with the Holiday Season: Poinsettia and Cyclamen Plant Sale. Information for this sale will be coming out soon!

As we head into our second week of 2nd Quarter Bands, we have some important announcements - please see below!
Marching Band Banquet
A reminder that our annual Marching Band Banquet will take place from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. this Friday 11/7. All Band, Color Guard, and Wizard of Oz Actors are cordially invited to attend! We are also inviting the parents of Senior Band members to honor their band students on this special day. All students with last names A - M are asked to bring a salad or appetizer, and all students with last names N - Z are asked to bring a dessert. We will provide entree's from Paninos as well as beverages and decorations. The evening will include Superlative Awards, Senior Speeches, and a Season Highlights Video. We are looking forward to another great event!
Marching Band Shoe Cubby Clean-Out
All shoe cubbies need to be cleaned out this week in preparation for next season. All marching band students must clean out their shoe cubbies by Friday 11/7. Any shoes, socks, or belongings left in cubbies beyond this Friday will be absorbed by the ETHS Bands inventory for future use by other students. Thank you for your help!
Marching Band Clean-Up Day! - Tomorrow (Tuesday 11/4 - 3:35 - 4:30 p.m.)
We will be cleaning our music wing tomorrow immediately following school in an effort to pack-up our marching equipment and make room for our concert season. We are in need of student help to pack up our backdrops, speaker racks, percussion stands, and drum major podium for storage in our trailer during the winter months. Many hands make light work - meet in the band room after school to lend a hand!
Basketball Pep Band
We are excited to start our 2014-2015 Basketball Pep Band! This group is open to all of our instrumentalists in our band program - woodwind, brass, and percussion - including a full rhythm section of guitar, bass, piano, and drums! State Swim Meet Performance
We have been invited to perform the Star Spangled Banner at the IL State Swim Meet hosted at ETHS on Friday 11/21 at 3:00 p.m. in our own Beardsley Pool. This has been an annual tradition for our brass musicians accompanied by one snare drummer for many years! If you are interested in joining us, visit the link below!
ILMEA District 7 Band, Choir, & Orchestra
This Saturday November 8th, ten ETHS music students will be representing our school at the annual District 7 Music Festival held at New Trier Township High School. Our bus will depart from ETHS at 7:10 a.m. for a full day of rehearsals, followed by a 3:00 p.m. performance. Please click the link below for the permission slip. We have arranged one-way transportation to New Trier - students and families are to arrange their own transportation home from New Trier at the conclusion of the concert.
Freshmen Concert Band Chair Test
Second Quarter Chair Tests for the Freshmen Concert Band will be this Wednesday, November 5th during 4th period. This Chair Test will be performed in front of a Flip Video or Zoom Camera and will count for an assessment grade (40 points) for the second quarter. Handouts were passed out during classes last week; however, a PDF of the Chair Test Materials can be found at the link below. Please reach out to Mr. Lehman with any additional questions.
